Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and motivated Parts Runner to support our heavy duty service team. The ideal candidate will ensure timely delivery of parts and supplies, facilitating efficient vehicle repairs and maintenance. This role is essential for maintaining smooth shop operations and providing excellent customer service. Prior dealership or automotive repair experience is a plus, along with mechanical knowledge and familiarity with hand and power tools. The Parts Runner will work closely with technicians, service advisors, and customers to ensure parts are delivered accurately and promptly. Ideally the parts runner will also have experience as a lube tech as well. Between parts running, this person will be servicing heavy duty trucks.
Responsibilities
- Pick up and deliver automotive parts, tools, and supplies between the dealership, suppliers, and repair shops
- Ensure all parts are delivered in a timely manner to support ongoing repairs and maintenance
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries and pickups
- Assist technicians with obtaining necessary parts for repairs such as oil changes, alignments, tire services, and other automotive diagnostics
- Handle heavy lifting safely when moving parts or equipment
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the parts storage area
- Communicate effectively with team members to coordinate deliveries and pickups
- Support the service department by providing assistance with vehicle maintenance tasks when needed
Qualifications
- Prior dealership experience or automotive service background preferred
- Knowledge of automotive repair processes including oil changes, alignments, tire service, and vehicle maintenance
- Mechanical knowledge with familiarity using hand tools and power tools
- Experience with automotive diagnostics is a plus
- Strong customer service skills to interact professionally with team members and customers
- Ability to lift heavy loads safely and perform physical tasks regularly
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining safety standards
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $ $14.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
