• Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM to finish
• Saturday work required as needed
• Occasional overtime may be required

Position Overview

XL Pro Staffing and Consulting is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic Helper to support the maintenance team in keeping facility equipment and mechanical systems operating safely and efficiently. The ideal candidate has mechanical aptitude, basic electrical knowledge, and a willingness to learn while assisting with preventive maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Assist maintenance mechanics with repairing, replacing, and inspecting machinery, tools, conveyors, HVAC systems, and plumbing.
• Perform preventive maintenance tasks, including lubrication, filter changes, and replacing belts and bearings.
• Assist with mechanical and electrical troubleshooting under supervision.
• Clean and maintain maintenance tools, equipment, and the shop area.
• Help respond to equipment breakdowns and emergencies.
• Follow safety procedures and environmental regulations.
• Maintain maintenance logs, reports, and parts inventory records.
• Assist with equipment shutdowns, installations, and special projects as needed.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Good communication skills, reliability, and a strong commitment to safety.
• Willingness to learn and work under direction.
• Prior maintenance or industrial experience.
• Mechanical aptitude or experience in manufacturing, HVAC, sheet metal, or maintenance preferred.
• Basic electrical/electronic knowledge.
• Knowledge of basic hand tools.
• Forklift experience or certification required.
• Welding, fabrication, or sheet metal experience is a plus.
• Ability to lift and move 50 lbs or more, climb ladders, and work in varying conditions, including heat, cold, and noise.
• Must be able to use required personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Flexibility to work occasional overtime, weekends, or night shifts as needed.

Work Environment

• Indoor and outdoor shop environment.
• Possible exposure to noise, dust, and heat.
