An established mechanical contractor delivering HVAC systems for large-scale multifamily developments is seeking a Mechanical Superintendent to oversee field operations across active construction projects. This position is ideal for a hands-on construction leader who excels at coordinating crews, maintaining schedules, and delivering quality installations in fast-paced environments.

Position Summary

The Superintendent will direct all field activities associated with HVAC and mechanical installations on multifamily projects. The role requires strong leadership, safety awareness, scheduling expertise, and coordination with general contractors and project management teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day field operations on multifamily construction projects

• Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, and internal field personnel

• Ensure installation quality and compliance with plans and specifications

• Drive project schedules and workforce planning

• Lead jobsite safety initiatives and toolbox talks

• Conduct inspections and quality control reviews

• Coordinate deliveries, equipment, and material logistics

• Identify and resolve field issues proactively

• Maintain project documentation and daily reports

• Support project turnover and commissioning activities

Qualifications

• 5 years of superintendent or field leadership experience

• Mechanical/HVAC construction background required

• Multifamily project experience preferred

• Strong understanding of HVAC systems, ductwork, piping, and equipment installation

• Ability to read construction drawings and specifications

• Strong leadership and communication skills

• OSHA knowledge and commitment to jobsite safety

Preferred

• Experience leading projects exceeding 200 apartment units

• OSHA 30 Certification

• Mechanical trade background
