Senior Mechanical Engineer – HVAC / Building Services
Columbus, Ohio (On-site)
A well-established engineering consultancy within the construction sector is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join its team in Columbus. This role offers the opportunity to work across design, project delivery, and client engagement within a collaborative, in-person environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead mechanical engineering projects from concept through construction
- Design HVAC systems for commercial and industrial applications
- Produce construction drawings, specifications, and technical documentation
- Manage multiple projects and coordinate with clients, contractors, and internal teams
- Attend site visits and support construction activities
- Contribute to proposals, estimates, and client development
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Approximately 10 years’ experience in consulting engineering or HVAC/construction environments
- Strong HVAC design experience, including chillers, rooftop units, piping, and ductwork
- Proficiency with AutoCAD and Revit
- Familiarity with relevant codes and standards (ASHRAE, NFPA, etc.)
- Strong communication and project management skills
