Accounts Payable Clerk (Onsite) – Vista, CA 92081
Full-Time | Monday–Friday | $25.00/hr | 6–8 Week LOA Coverage
A well‐established organization in Vista, CA is seeking a detail‐oriented Accounts Payable Clerk to provide onsite support during a 6–8 week leave of absence. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast‐paced environment, enjoys problem‐solving, and can quickly step into an existing workflow with accuracy and professionalism.
Key Responsibilities
Invoice Processing & Payments
- Process high‐volume vendor invoices with accurate coding and timely entry
- Perform 2‐way and 3‐way matching (invoice, PO, receipt)
- Assist with weekly payment runs (ACH, checks, wires)
- Manage vendor credits, debit memos, and short payments
- Monitor accounts to ensure payments remain current
Vendor Management
- Set up and maintain vendor records (W‐9s, contact info, payment details)
- Respond promptly and professionally to vendor inquiries
- Partner with Procurement, Receiving, and Operations to resolve discrepancies
- Build and maintain strong vendor relationships
Month-End Close Support & Audit
- Maintain organized and accurate AP ledgers and documentation
- Assist with AP accruals and cutoff procedures
- Support audit requests by providing required documentation
- Contribute to timely and accurate month‐end close activities
Minimum Requirements
- Experience in Accounts Payable or a similar accounting role
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Hands‐on experience with invoice matching and payment processing
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (basic formulas, lookups)
- Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize
- Effective communication and collaboration abilities
- Solid analytical and problem‐solving skills
- High degree of integrity and confidentiality
Preferred Qualifications
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Interest in continuous improvement and process efficiency
- Experience with Great Plains or similar ERP systems
- Ability to quickly learn new systems and tools
