About WORK Inc.’s Solidaridad Family Support Center
WORK Inc.’s Solidaridad Family Support Center is dedicated to supporting Spanish-speaking families and individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (ID/DD) in the Greater Boston Area. We strive to empower families by connecting them to resources, services, and community opportunities that foster inclusion and growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Guide families as they navigate services, benefits, and community resources
- Build strong relationships with local community partners and organizations
- Plan and facilitate family workshops, training, social events, and recreational activities
- Provide translation and interpretation to ensure clear, accessible communication
- Lead support groups, advocacy activities, and leadership initiatives
- Coordinate the Family Advisory Council
- Collaborate with our AVP of Family Support Services and Communications team to shape outreach, promotional materials, and social media
- Use a person-centered approach and LifeCourse tools to support planning and goal setting
- A culturally responsive leader who is passionate about supporting and empowering families
- Experience working with diverse families and communities
- Knowledge of the Department of Disability Services (DDS) and local school special education systems
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Approachability, creativity, patience, and adaptability in a dynamic environment
Requirements
- Fluency in Spanish and English (required)
- Full-time schedule availability with flexibility and occasional weekends
- Bachelor’s degree in human services or related field, with three or more years of experience supporting individuals with ID/DD
- Ability to work in various community settings
- Valid Driver’s License and ability to travel between community locations
- CPR/First Aid certification required (training provided)
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365
- Be part of a supportive, collaborative team that values cultural responsiveness and practical problem-solving
