Under the guidance of the Director of Food Drink and direction of the Food Drink Manager, the Earthbar Lead supports the day-to-day operations of the Earthbar by creating the best possible experience for Woodside members and guests. This role functions as a hands-on lead, serving as a resource and example for the team. Key responsibilities include assisting with staff training, accurately completing inventory tasks, receiving product deliveries and upholding all Woodside policies and procedures. The Earthbar Lead models excellent customer service, ensures consistency in Earthbar recipes and helps maintain high standards for safety, sanitation and cleanliness.
Duties / Responsibilities
- Models exceptional service and sets the standard for Earthbar staff by consistently delivering elevated customer experience. Helps reinforce team accountability to Earthbar guidelines, including recipe accuracy, quality, cleanliness and proper food handling.
- Assists with onboarding and training of new Earthbar team members, including service expectations, recipe compliance (cup method), Woodside Kitchen Menu knowledge and safe correct operation of all equipment
- Maintains expert-level knowledge of all smoothies, bowls, Grab Go items and retail offerings in order to support staff performance and engage members and guests
- Develops new and creative ways to teach, test, and reinforce training to ensure all Earthbar staff remain current on standards, recipes, procedures, and service expectations
- Prepares and maintains standard recipe cards for all bakery items to ensure accuracy and consistency
- Provides ongoing feedback to the Food Drink Manager regarding member preferences, product performance, menu opportunities and operational improvements
- Monitors daily inventory levels, waste logs and product preparation; compares usage to sales to help control costs and minimize waste
- Assists the Food Drink Manager with End-of-Month inventory tasks and related processes
- Troubleshoots basic POS issues and helps ensure team accuracy in entering orders, modifiers and member account information
- Works proactively to resolve member and/or guest concerns and ensures timely, professional follow-through of service
- Supports Earthbar promotions and sales focuses, and assists with Club-wide special events as needed
- Ensures equipment cleanliness and functionality, including routine inspections, proper sanitation practices and adherence to Woodside’s preventative maintenance programs. Ensures all Earthbar areas meet required sanitary standards.
- Maintains required food-safety certification, preferably ServSafe, and ensures compliance with all State of Kansas, Johnson County and City of Westwood regulations.
- Keeps all food drink outlets clean, organized and visually appealing, with a strong eye for detail and presentation
- Communicates maintenance issues or operational concerns promptly to the Food Drink Manager
- Demonstrates purposeful movement throughout the shift, consistently attentive to member and/or guest needs
- Participates and fulfills all requirements set forth in the Continuing Education Curriculum (Woodside University) Program
- Complies with Club’s employee handbook manual, departmental policies and procedures and with all applicable federal and state employment laws
- Completes all other duties as directed/assigned
