Woodlawn is seeking a Laboratory Information System (LIS) Coordinator to join the Laboratory Department!

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- Board of registry examination (ASCP, AMT) preferred.
- BS or BA degree and graduation from an accredited school of Medical Technology or Medical Laboratory Science approved by the department of Health and Human Services (HHS).
- Or BS or BA degree in chemistry, biology, or physics, and five years experience in one or more medical laboratory areas.
- Or a Baccalaureate in Medical Technology or Medical Laboratory Science.
- Or Associate degree from an MLT program approved by HHS.
- CPR Certification is required.
PRIMARY DUTIES:
- Performs all testing in the laboratory including chemistry, microbiology, computer entry, hematology, serology, blood banking, phlebotomy, urinalysis, and microscopy.
- Maintains records of performance as defined in the laboratory’s general and sectional policy and procedure manuals.
- Must maintain patient confidentiality and limit use of PHI to minimal use.
- Performs duties assigned by the Laboratory Manager above departmental responsibilities. Duties specifically assigned to the LIS coordinator include, but are not limited to:
- Supervises the LIS system, including instrument interfaces, test builds, monitoring calculations, comment tables, etc.
- Assists other departments and physician clinics when issues with lab reporting arise.
- Keeps accurate records of changes made to the LIS system and ensures that changes optimize LIS function.
