Essential Functions
- Applies appropriate pharmacy knowledge and skills to safely support patients of all ages while adhering to pharmacy laws, regulations, and professional standards under pharmacist supervision.
- Prepares and processes medications accurately by assisting with order entry, compounding, packaging, labeling, pre-packing, and dispensing activities in accordance with established procedures.
- Maintains accurate inventory control by receiving, checking, storing, ordering, and tracking drugs and supplies, including proper documentation for dangerous drugs.
- Utilizes pharmaceutical terminology, mathematics, weights and measures, symbols, and pharmacy equipment to perform technical pharmacy functions with precision and attention to detail.
- Transports and distributes medications and supplies to patient care areas by delivering orders, refilling automated dispensing machines, restocking floor stock and emergency carts, and retrieving returns as directed.
- Prepare, prevent, protect and respond to support our culture of safety. Works hours per week in accordance with offer letter or per attributes of position at transfer request.
- May be expected to work longer hours as necessary.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required.
License: One of the following:
- Certified Pharmacy Technician through PTCB
- Licensed Pharmacy Technician or Licensed Certified Pharmacy Technician through the Ohio State Board of Pharmacy
- Licensed Pharmacy Technician Trainee must be a Licensed Registered/Certified Pharmacy Technician within 18 months of hire date.
