Qualifications

A minimum of an associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education OR a Child
Development Associate (CDA) credential OR a state awarded certificate that meets or exceeds the
requirements for a CDA credential and are enrolled in a program that will lead to an associate’s or
baccalaureate degree.
Degree(s) must be from an accredited college recognized by the NC Department of Child Development
and Early Education.

WNCSource is a non-profit organization with multiple child care centers providing services to Early Head Start, Head Start, and NC Pre-K (preschool) children across four counties in beautiful western North Carolina.
Teacher Responsibilities include:
- Engaging in classroom activities and teaching in a manner consistent with the philosophy and goals of the WNCSource Head Start program, building and maintaining a positive, nurturing, and supportive relationship with the children and families.
- Maintaining a safe and healthy environment in the classroom and on the playground.
- Assist in providing high-quality supplemental support, responsive caregiving, and educational experiences. Provide staff breaks, classroom coverage, kitchen aid and other center support as needed.
