Education & Qualifications
We’re looking for passionate educators who believe in the power of early learning.
- Required: Associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education (ECE), Human Services, or a related field with equivalent coursework in early childhood development
- Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in ECE, Human Services, or a related field (especially with infant/toddler focus)
- All degrees must be from an institution accredited by the NC DCDEE
Experience is a plus—2 years preferred—but your commitment to children’s growth matters most.

What You’ll Do (And Love!)
As a WNCSource teacher, you’ll play a key role in shaping the earliest years of a child’s learning journey. Every day brings creativity, discovery, and the chance to make a lasting impact.
- Create joyful learning: Bring lessons to life with hands-on activities that reflect the goals and philosophy of the WNCSource Head Start program
- Build meaningful relationships: Connect with children and families in warm, supportive, and culturally responsive ways
- Guide growth & development: Plan experiences that nurture physical health, social-emotional skills, language, cognitive growth, and a love of learning
- Use observation & assessment: Track children’s progress to support school readiness and individual strengths
- Partner with families: Engage parents through conferences, home visits, and ongoing communication
- Support smooth transitions: Help families navigate entry, exit, and developmental milestones within the Early Head Start program
- Keep kids safe: Maintain a healthy, supervised, secure environment—inside and out
