Qualifications
- A minimum of an associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education OR a Child
Development Associate (CDA) credential OR a state awarded certificate that meets or exceeds the
requirements for a CDA credential and are enrolled in a program that will lead to an associate’s or
baccalaureate degree.
Degree(s) must be from an accredited college recognized by the NC Department of Child Development
and Early Education.

Teacher Responsibilities include:
- Engaging in classroom activities and teaching in a manner consistent with the philosophy and goals of the WNCSource Head Start program, building and maintaining a positive, nurturing, and supportive relationship with the children and families.
- Maintaining a safe and healthy environment in the classroom and on the playground.
- Assist in providing high-quality supplemental support, responsive caregiving, and educational experiences. Provide staff breaks, classroom coverage, kitchen aid and other center support as needed.
