Purpose: The Environmental Services Team Member – Litter is responsible for providing litter patrol and environmental services in assigned areas. This position performs routine cleaning, litter collection, waste removal, and related duties to maintain a safe, clean, and orderly work environment.
The Team Member works independently and as part of a team while following established procedures, safety requirements, work schedules, and quality standards. The position may also assist individuals with disabilities with assigned activities and duties, as appropriate.
Regular attendance is a most important job requirement and an essential function of this position.
Basic Task List:
- Provide litter patrol services in assigned areas
- Pick up litter and debris using appropriate hand tools or by hand when appropriate
- Carry bags, trash receptacles, collection tools, and other equipment used in litter patrol activities
- Collect and remove waste, garbage and debris from assigned areas
- Load and unload trash and debris using appropriate procedures and equipment
- Monitor assigned areas and communicate the need for additional supplies or materials
- Follow checklists/task lists, work schedules, and procedures
- Assist clients with assigned activities/duties/needs
- Perform quality checks during work performance and upon work completion
- Perform preventive maintenance prior to use of equipment and to use equipment appropriately.
- Maintain a safe, clean and healthy work environment
Secondary Duties:
- Must attend staff development and/or work training programs as assigned
- Provide assistance in other work areas or perform other duties as assigned
Education
- High school diploma/GED preferred
- Equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered
Experience
- Previous experience in environmental services, custodial services, grounds maintenance, litter patrol, or related service work is preferred
- Experience working as part of a team is preferred
