WinnMed is seeking a Health Unit Coordinator to join our team supporting the clinic operations at the Decorah, IA Clinic !
The Health Unit Coordinator is responsible for various clerical, electronic and customer service duties that provide support to the provider/nurse teams. This includes rooming patients, obtaining and recording vitals, the management/flow and maintenance of patient information, (medical records, test results, forms, etc.), answering phones, coordinating verbal and written communication between patient, family, health team members, and health care providers.
Schedule:
- Full-time, 40 hours per week (1.0 FTE), Monday - Friday
- 8- hour day shifts, 5 days per week
- Located at the Decorah Clinic. Hours are: 7:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., Monday - Friday.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- American Heart Association BLS certification beneficial.
- Medical terminology training or knowledge strongly preferred.
- Phlebotomy training or previous experience preferred; on the job training possible.
- Minimum of 1 year experience in a health care environment strongly preferred.
- Completion of C.N.A., Health Unit Coordinator, Medical Assistant, Health Information Management or other health related program preferred.
- Requires the ability to communicate effectively with patients, family and staff
