Winnebago Towables has an immediate need for an experienced candidate to fill a IT Systems & Application Lead position. This position will be based in Middlebury, Indiana.
Primary Objective of Position: The IT Systems & Applications Lead is responsible for supporting and optimizing enterprise applications and underlying infrastructure while providing high-level technical support to the business. This role combines application ownership, ERP support, and infrastructure expertise with hands-on end-user and systems support.
The position serves as a key liaison between business stakeholders, application vendors, and IT teams to ensure reliable, secure, and scalable technology solutions that support business operations.
Key Areas of Responsibility
- Serve as a primary technical resource for ERP (NetSuite) administration, support, troubleshooting, and enhancement.
- Partner with business stakeholders to gather requirements, resolve issues, and improve application functionality and performance.
- Oversee application lifecycle activities including configuration, testing, deployment, documentation, and ongoing support.
- Diagnose and resolve application, system, and infrastructure issues; determine root cause, priority, and appropriate resolution.
- Administer, maintain, and troubleshoot Microsoft Windows Server environments.
- Administer, maintain, and support Microsoft SQL Server, including monitoring and backups. Deep DBA specialization is not required.
- Assist with cloud infrastructure (Microsoft Azure) operations, optimization, and future initiatives.
- Support local datacenter operations and collaborate with Infrastructure teams as needed.
- Respond to IT Service Desk tickets, providing advanced onsite and remote support to end users.
- Provide backup support for desktop and end-user environments when primary desktop support resources are available or during escalated situations.
- Act as IT liaison for escalated or complex troubleshooting involving multiple IT functions or vendors.
- Participate in IT projects, system implementations, upgrades, and migrations.
- Research, evaluate, and recommend new technologies, tools, and process improvements.
- Participate in hardware and software reviews and recommend standardization and purchases.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior IT and application support team members.
- Ensure compliance with IT policies, procedures, and security standards.
- Follow up with users to ensure issues are resolved and service is delivered at optimal levels.
- Create documentation and alternative processes to improve efficiency and system usability.
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field preferred (or equivalent work experience)
- 5–10 years of combined experience in application support, ERP systems, infrastructure, and end-user support
- Ability to support ERP (NetSuite) needs – required
- Microsoft Windows Server experience – required
- Microsoft SQL Server experience – required
- Cloud infrastructure experience, particularly Microsoft Azure – preferred
- Experience supporting users in manufacturing and/or office environments
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all organizational levels
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
Physical Demands
- Primarily office environment (sitting and standing)
- Ability to move between departments and locations as needed
- Ability to lift and handle equipment up to 30 pounds
- Occasional travel between plants or off-campus locations (5–10%)
