Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Nursing Assistant to join our healthcare team. In this role, you will provide essential support to patients in various settings, including assisted living facilities, medical-surgical units, and intensive care units (ICU). Your primary focus will be on delivering high-quality patient care while ensuring comfort and safety. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills and a commitment to maintaining patient dignity.
Responsibilities
- Assist patients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and eating.
- Monitor and record vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration rates.
- Provide support in administering medications as directed by nursing staff.
- Help with mobility and physical therapy exercises to enhance patient recovery.
- Maintain accurate patient records using electronic health record systems like eClinicalWorks and Cerner.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy and confidentiality.
- Collaborate with nursing staff to develop and implement individualized care plans for patients.
- Assist in maintaining a clean and safe environment for patients and staff.
Skills
- Proficiency in monitoring vital signs and understanding their significance in patient care.
- Experience or knowledge in geriatrics and assisted living environments is preferred.
- Familiarity with electronic health record systems such as eClinicalWorks or Cerner is a plus.
- Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Ability to provide compassionate patient service while respecting individual needs and preferences.
- Knowledge of basic medical-surgical practices relevant to patient care settings.
- Understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure the confidentiality of patient information.
