Job Responsibilities:
Activities of all faculty members at Wilmington College include exemplary teaching, curriculum development, and student advising; professional attainment; and service to the department, college, and community. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate courses within the Exercise Science curriculum.
Exercise Science Courses May Include:
- Introduction to Exercise Science
- Exercise and Sport Nutrition (basic and advanced)
- Exercise Physiology
- Medical Terminology
- Seminar/Topics classes (Professional Organizations and Development, Ethics and Profession Best Practices).
- Field Experience
Engage in the Exercise Science Program:
- Advise and mentor students pursuing careers in Exercise Science.
- Serve as the advisor/co-advisor for the ESSA (Exercise Science Student Association).
- Build industry partnerships to create field experience and career opportunities in the industry for students.
- Engage in outreach and networking to strengthen the program.
- Serve on committees and participate in campus-wide initiatives.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications:
Doctorate in Exercise Science, Exercise Physiology, Kinesiology, (Sport) Nutrition or related field from an accredited institution is preferred. ABD will be considered (tenure track status requires terminal degree in hand). Master’s degree will be considered. Background in nutrition education/industry preferred.
- Passion for teaching & mentoring undergraduate students.
- Strong communication & leadership skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with faculty, students, and industry professionals.
- ACSM or NSCA certification are preferred but not required.
