This role ensures that all hiring practices align with university policies, federal and state regulations, and W&M’s commitment to equitable and compliant hiring processes. The TAP manages assigned recruitments, advises hiring managers on HR practices, policies, recruitment processes, candidate evaluations best practices and equitable hiring standards. Ensures compliance with I‑9, ADA, and EEO requirements, and strengthens the university’s talent acquisition processes through training, documentation, and continuous improvement. Works in close partnership with HR Business Partners to support recruitment needs and align hiring activities with departmental workforce plans. Job Description: Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education, experience, and training. Experience in talent acquisition, HR, or related field. Job Duties: 70% - Recruitment Operations & Process Management: Facilitate, support and guide hiring managers and departmental recruiters through the full recruitment lifecycle, ensuring timely progress, process consistency, and a positive candidate experience including job requisition creation support, position posting, sourcing, screening, interviewing, and selection. Support recruitment initiatives and ensure consistent hiring practices. Manage assigned requisitions from initiation through onboarding, ensuring timely progress and high‑quality candidate experience. Review job descriptions and postings for accuracy, consistency, and compliance with W&M standards. Coordinate background checks, credential verifications, and other pre‑employment screening processes. Send candidate offer letters Monitor recruitment workflows in the applicant tracking system (ATS) and troubleshoot issues for hiring departments. Interprets university and Commonwealth of Virginia hiring/personnel policies while working with hiring manager and recruiters as appropriate. Partner with HR colleagues to ensure smooth transitions from recruitment to onboarding. Works in close partnership with HR Business Partners to support recruitment needs and align hiring activities with departmental workforce plans. 15% - Compliance & Regulatory Oversight: Ensure all recruitment and hiring activities comply with federal, state, and university regulations, including I‑9, EEO, ADA, FLSA, and Virginia state employment laws. Oversee timely and accurate completion of I‑9 documentation and employment eligibility verification. Advise departments on reasonable accommodation processes. Maintain accurate recruitment documentation to support audit readiness and regulatory reporting. 10% - Training, Guidance & Departmental Support: Train departmental recruiters, hiring managers, and search committees on recruitment best practices, compliance requirements, and system usage. Develop and deliver workshops, guides, and resources that strengthen hiring capability across campus. Serve as a subject‑matter expert on recruitment policies, procedures, and tools. 5% - Documentation, Job Aids & Continuous Improvement: Create, update, and maintain job aids, process documentation, and recruitment resources for campus partners. Identify opportunities to streamline processes and enhance the hiring experience for candidates and departments. Participate in HR projects, system upgrades, and process improvement initiatives.
