Position Summary: William & Mary’s Civic & Community Engagement office seeks a part-time (15 hours per week during the academic year) AmeriCorps Program Coordinator to support daily administrative operations and contribute to the success of the AmeriCorps program and its members. The ideal candidate will bring experience in education, youth development, and program management, and will support operational oversight of the AmeriCorps member lifecycle, including training and site supervision. The AmeriCorps Program Coordinator provides advising, coordination, and logistical support for William & Mary Civic & Community Engagement’s AmeriCorps program. This role is responsible for managing the full AmeriCorps member lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, ongoing training, placement, and offboarding. Key responsibilities include processing background checks, coordinating training schedules and tracking participation, managing timesheets, and supporting communication and coordination with AmeriCorps service sites. The Coordinator also serves as a liaison between Civic & Community Engagement and AmeriCorps partner sites to ensure effective program delivery and support. Job Description: Required Qualifications: Experience with managing administrative processes (may include approving timesheets, processing background checks, creating and maintaining records using spreadsheets or other tracking software) Experience with MS Office applications and comfort with new technology Strong organizational skills for the coordination and implementation of programs Preferred Qualifications: A bachelor's degree in an education-related field Strong verbal and written communication skills Experience working in a K-12 school or out-of-school time program Experience working with university students and/or volunteers Interest in and knowledge of issues in education/youth development and commitment to engaging with them Driver’s License Conditions of Employment: This is a part-time hourly position, limited to 10 months August-May, 15 hours per week, contingent upon continued grant funding. This is a non-exempt position, which may be eligible to receive overtime in accordance with the Fair Labor Standards Act. All hourly employees are subject to the limitations of the Virginia Manpower Control Program and total hours worked may not exceed, on average, 29 hours per week, over the course of a twelve-month period beginning May 1 each year. Hiring Range: up to $22/hour, commensurate with experience. Job Duties: Logistics & Administration 50% Provide administrative and fiscal support for AmeriCorps grant activities to comply with policies and procedures. Keep program director informed and participate in the resolution of operating problems. Review and approve member timesheets and liaise with site supervisors. Ensure that all members participate in required training, coaching, reflection, and supervision, including facilitating scheduling and registration. Execute training, and special events. Data Management 40% Monitor and collect data on participant engagement and progress including recording data in data management system(s). Process background checks and maintain all AmeriCorps member files. Program Support & Oversight 10% Assist with conducting site visits to ensure program fidelity. May fill in for site supervisor occasionally if the need arises. May drive a W&M van or personal vehicle to and from service site(s).
