CHRISTUS Health - Community Impact VISTA Member

The CHRISTUS Health Community Impact AmeriCorps VISTA Program strengthens the health system’s capacity to address priority community needs through data informed planning, effective communication, and sustainable program development. VISTA Members serve at the CHRISTUS Health System Office in the Dallas–Fort Worth area and support system level and ministry aligned community impact efforts that improve access, alignment, and community health outcomes. Beginning in August 2026, CHRISTUS Health will place three full time AmeriCorps VISTA Members for a one year term of service. Each VISTA Member will focus on a distinct but complementary capacity building area while working collaboratively across Community Impact, Mission Integration, Finance, Clinical, and Strategy teams. Assignments are non duplicative, do not replace staff roles, and focus on long term systems and process improvement. No prior AmeriCorps experience is required. The three VISTA roles include: (1) Communications and Engagement VISTA, supporting internal and external community health communications, engagement tools, and documentation to strengthen visibility, alignment, and partner awareness; (2) Data Systems and Reporting VISTA, supporting data collection, organization, analysis, and documentation to improve reporting, evaluation, and decision making across community benefit, finance, and clinical efforts; and (3) Program Planning, Support, and Evaluation VISTA, supporting community health program planning, documentation, and evaluation to strengthen effectiveness, alignment with community priorities, and long term sustainability. VISTA Members may participate in limited, intentional direct service activities solely to better understand community needs and inform capacity building work. AmeriCorps VISTA Members do not provide clinical care or services traditionally performed by employees.

Member Duties : We are seeking three AmeriCorps VISTA Members to support CHRISTUS Health’s Community Impact work through capacity-building service roles. Members will strengthen how community health efforts are communicated, measured, and sustained by supporting communications and engagement, data systems and reporting, and community health program planning, documentation, and evaluation to improve effectiveness, alignment, and long-term impact.
