A globally recognized law firm with a strong presence across major financial markets is seeking a Billing Coordinator to join its finance team. The firm operates in a fast-paced, high-performance environment supporting complex, high-value client work across multiple offices.
The billing function is central to the firm’s operations, working closely with attorneys and leadership to ensure accurate, timely, and consistent billing across matters.
This position sits within the Billing, Collections, and E-Billing team and plays a key role in managing the full billing cycle.
You will work directly with attorneys to prepare, review, and finalize client invoices, resolve billing issues, and help keep revenue moving. This is a hands-on role for someone who understands how billing works inside a law firm and can operate with a high level of ownership.
Billing Coordinator Responsibilities:
- Process a high volume of client invoices with accuracy and efficiency
- Review and edit pre-bills based on attorney and internal feedback
- Apply retainers and credits in accordance with internal guidelines
- Handle write-offs and billing adjustments
- Manage complex billing scenarios including split billing and multi-discount structures
- Submit invoices through e-billing platforms and resolve submission issues
- Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies and client inquiries
- Generate billing reports and assist with analysis as needed
- Act as a point of contact between attorneys, staff, and clients on billing matters
- Prepare monthly reporting for partners and leadership
- Partner with collections to address outstanding receivables
- Support month-end and year-end billing cycles
- Maintain accurate, audit-ready documentation
- Assist with process improvements and system enhancements
Billing Coordinator Qualifications:
- 1–5 years of billing experience in a law firm environment
- Strong understanding of legal billing workflows and timekeeping systems
- Comfortable working directly with attorneys
- Solid Excel skills
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication skills
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
Salary : $80,000 - $100,000
