What are the responsibilities and job description for the SPANISH INSTRUCTOR ANTICIPATED VACANCY position at Whittier Regional Vocational Technical High School?
QUALIFICATIONS:
Massachusetts licensure as a Spanish teacher from the Massachusetts
Department of Elementary and Secondary Education is required.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.Implement and periodically update a course of study based upon the
Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks.
2.Maintain all records necessary for reporting student grades, performance
and the documentation of student competencies.
3.Prepare lesson plans at least two weeks in advance.
4.Establish and enforce a disciplinary code consistent with the student handbook which reinforces a professional atmosphere.
5.Follow procedures that have been established for the health and safety of the students.
6.Implement the inclusion model of education. Differentiated instruction will be used so that students of varied abilities and learning styles will learn.
7.Help students grow in their ability to work with others in classroom and school situations, especially when enrolled in non-traditional programs.
8.Maintain and update a department inventory.
9.Utilize assessment data to drive instruction and support student learning.
10.Utilize and incorporate the John Collins Writing Program.
11.Responsible for meeting all administrative deadlines.
12.Maintain the condition of the classroom facilities.
13.Support efforts outlined in the School Improvement Plan.
14.Assist students in developing an appreciation of culture, arts and humanities.
15.Implement the inclusion model of education and work to promote achievement by all students.
16.Involve and communicate regularly with parents in regards to their child’s academic activities and performance.
17.Incorporate standards based teaching strategies in the classroom.
18.Perform all duties and functions as deemed necessary by the Superintendent, Administration and/or designee.
SALARY AND WORKING CONDITIONS:
10 Month Position
According to Teacher Contract - based on DESE licensure, degree/credits & experience
FY27 Salary Schedule Range from $64,472 - $118,996
