What are the responsibilities and job description for the ATTENDANCE MONITOR position at Whittier Regional Vocational Technical High School?
QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience working with students in a high school setting is required. As well as experience in working with computers.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The Attendance Monitor reports directly to the Assistant Principals. He/She is responsible for monitoring student tardiness and absences, provide attendance information to guidance, and assists with student clubs and activities.
1.Collect notes from absent students as reported by homeroom monitors.
2.Calls the home of absentees to report student absence to parent and/or guardian.
3.Works with guidance to develop student attendance profiles and parental conferences to discuss student absence.
4.Provides computerized data on incidental student attendance and school wide attendance for students, parents, administration and state reports.
5.Develops computerized statistical data of activities in the Assistant Principals’ Office to include discipline data.
6.Targets students who develop attendance problems by:
a.reporting to the guidance counselor
b.contact parents
c.file “Child in Need of Services” petition upon administrative
review
d.works with county, state and local agencies as needed
7.Completes letters to be sent to parents/guardians for students
missing more than 5 and/or 10 days of school.
8.Other duties as assigned by administration

10 month position
7:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.
$49,500 - 51,000
