Sourcing Director - Indirect Procurement

A rapidly growing, private equity-backed insurance company is seeking a Strategic Sourcing Director, Indirect Procurement, to join a lean yet high-impact team. This role will lead sourcing and procurement initiatives by leveraging market intelligence and best practices to optimize costs, enhance supplier performance, and support corporate objectives. The Director will evaluate and develop category strategies, lead RFIs and RFPs, and negotiate supplier agreements to drive value, efficiency, and measurable savings. Serving as a key point of contact for suppliers and internal stakeholders, this individual will build strong partnerships and position the organization as a customer of choice across its critical supplier portfolio.

Job Function

• Independently performs a variety of complex sourcing and procurement activities to deliver value, cost savings, and risk mitigation.
• Leads the development of HR and Professional Services category management strategies, working to improve total cost of ownership and meet departmental and company goals.
• Negotiates complex vendor contracts and monitors contract compliance to ensure terms and conditions are being met and the expected value is delivered.
• Analyzes purchasing patterns, defines priorities for assigned category of goods and services, and develops opportunities for cost savings, demand management, and risk mitigation.
• Researches and reports on industry trends and initiatives; investigates targeted industries, potential suppliers, and critical service factors to develop category strategies.
• Develops and initiates complex requests for proposal documents, reviews supplier proposals, makes supplier recommendations, issues awards, and negotiates supplier contracts.
• Collaborates with HR, business and operational leads to develop strategic sourcing initiatives and oversees the implementation of key priorities.
  
  
  

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Supply Chain, or a related field.
• 8 years of experience in strategic sourcing, including significant HR and Professional Services category management within a publicly traded company.
• Experience leveraging procurement market intelligence tools to inform sourcing decisions.
• Strong background in executive-level reporting and presentation of sourcing insights.
• Solid knowledge of P2P processes, category management, and procurement best practices.
• Familiarity with US and EU regulations impacting procurement and contracting, including data privacy requirements.
• Strong financial acumen and data analytics skills, including proficiency with tools such as Excel, Power BI, or Qlik.
