Senior Accountant - Financial Team

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join their growing finance team, in Garden City, New York. This individual will be responsible for maintaining the general ledger, leading the month-end close process, and ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting. The ideal candidate will have a strong command of GAAP, experience in full-cycle accounting, and the ability to excel in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Job Function

• Maintain and reconcile the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
• Lead all aspects of the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations.
• Prepare and analyze financial statements, reports, and supporting documentation.
• Partner with internal departments to gather and validate financial data for reporting purposes.
• Assist with internal and external audits by preparing schedules and responding to audit inquiries.
• Monitor and enhance accounting processes and internal controls to improve efficiency and accuracy.
  
  
  

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
• 8 years of progressive accounting experience, with a focus on general ledger and month-end close.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and experienced with ERP systems.
