- Prepare the operating room for surgical procedures, including setting up sterile instruments, supplies, and equipment.
- Assist surgeons and the surgical team during operations by passing instruments, maintaining sterile fields, and anticipating procedural needs.
- Monitor patient vital signs and overall status before, during, and after surgery, responding to any changes promptly.
- Ensure proper documentation of surgical procedures, patient care, and perioperative interventions in the EMR system.
- Maintain strict adherence to infection control, safety protocols, and regulatory standards within the operating room.
- Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN).
- Current RN license for the state of Connecticut.
- 2 years of acute care experience in this specialty.
- BLS & ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association are required.
