WCS Healthcare is currently seeking an experienced Emergency Room Registered Nurse for a contract assignment at a highly respected hospital in Utica, NY. This role is ideal for a clinically strong RN who thrives in a fast‑paced environment and is confident caring for patients experiencing life‑threatening conditions.
Job Function:
- Night Shift.
- 3x12: 6:30pm- 7am.
- Manage the care of adult and/or pediatric patients with critical, life‑threatening conditions requiring rapid assessment and high‑intensity interventions.
- Provide emotional support, education, and clear communication to patients and families during emergency situations.
- Collaborate closely with physicians and the interdisciplinary team, recognizing when early intervention is needed.
- Prepare patients for surgery, imaging, and diagnostic procedures.
- Perform essential emergency procedures including IV insertion, medication administration, blood draws, and airway support (intubation assistance).
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the EMR.
Job Requirements:
- Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN).
- Current RN license for the state that you are working in (or willingness to obtain).
- 2 years of Emergency Room RN experience is required, with some Pediatric experience.
- BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS and TNCC certifications from the American Heart Association are required.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
