- Department currently has 7 midwives, 2 of which who are per diem to assist with deliveries.
- Expect to remain 75-80% clinical with 1 day of admin reserved weekly.
- Combination of outpatient clinic (2-3 days), call for deliveries (1:7) and time in the OR.
- Midwives carry own panel of patients and do their own deliveries for low-risk patients (anything high-risk or C-section needed, the MDs called in).
- Department looking to grow, goal #1 of incoming director will be to assist with recruitment.
- Administrative responsibilities entail recruitment of new staff, schedule management and reporting into the Associate Chair of L&D on initiatives.
- Training as a Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM).
- NY License required.
- Board Certification required.
- 5 years as a CNM, preferably some leadership experience.
