Manager of Nurse Midwives, CNM

Top academic hospital in Brooklyn looking for a Manager of Nurse Midwives to replace the current director who is retiring after 30 years at the institution. This is an employed position with a competitive salary, CME money and standard hospital benefits including malpractice coverage.

Job Function

• Department currently has 7 midwives, 2 of which who are per diem to assist with deliveries.
• Expect to remain 75-80% clinical with 1 day of admin reserved weekly.
• Combination of outpatient clinic (2-3 days), call for deliveries (1:7) and time in the OR.
• Midwives carry own panel of patients and do their own deliveries for low-risk patients (anything high-risk or C-section needed, the MDs called in).
• Department looking to grow, goal #1 of incoming director will be to assist with recruitment.
• Administrative responsibilities entail recruitment of new staff, schedule management and reporting into the Associate Chair of L&D on initiatives.
  
  
  

Job Requirements

• Training as a Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM).
• NY License required.
• Board Certification required.
• 5 years as a CNM, preferably some leadership experience.
