Our client is seeking a Land Planner to join their Land Use Practice Group in Downtown Fort Lauderdale. This role is critical in guiding development projects through the approval process, ensuring compliance with local regulations, and advising clients on entitlement strategies. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
Job Function:
- Manage the approval process for land development, including:
- Comprehensive plan amendments
- Zoning changes
- Platting and site planning
- Variances and easement vacations
- Roadway rights-of-way and municipal annexations
- Conduct title documentation reviews, surveys, and design plan evaluations.
- Coordinate with clients, consultants, and regulatory agencies to ensure smooth project progression.
- Provide strategic advice on entitlements and regulatory requirements.
- Perform zoning and comprehensive plan research.
- Prepare due diligence reports for development projects.
- Represent projects at community meetings, presenting plans and addressing public inquiries.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Urban Planning, Land Use, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- AICP certification (preferred).
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to track and record billable hours.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Effective communication and public speaking skills for client and community engagement.
