RN - Corrections - Local Contract

WCS Healthcare is seeking an experienced Correctional Care Registered Nurse for a contract assignment at a prestigious hospital in Cape Vincent, NY. This role is ideal for a nurse who excels in fast‑paced recovery environments and provides safe, compassionate care to patients emerging from anesthesia.

Job Function:

• Night Shift.
• 3x12: 7pm-7am.

• Perform comprehensive health assessments and identify new or worsening symptoms

• Diagnose and treat patient health problems within RN scope

• Administer medications and execute medical regimens ordered by licensed providers

• Conduct EKGs and perform blood draws

• Provide restorative and palliative care to ill, disabled, or terminally ill patients

• Educate and counsel patients on health maintenance and disease prevention

• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams

• Participate in health‑related committees and planning initiatives

• Maintain accurate documentation and adhere to facility protocols

• Work safely within a secured correctional environment

Job Requirements:

• Active New York State RN License (no exceptions)

• Minimum 1 year of RN experience post‑licensure

• BLS certification

• Strong assessment skills

• Ability to perform EKGs and phlebotomy
