Job Title: AR Representative II & III – Hospital Denials Specialist
Location: Plano, TX 75024

Work Schedule: Monday–Friday | 8-hour shift starting between 7:00 AM – 9:00 AM CST
Pay Range:
- AR Rep II: $26.00 – $28.00/hour
- AR Rep III: $27.00 – $31.00/hour
Position Summary
Wheeler Staffing Partners is hiring eight (8) Hospital Denials Specialists (AR Rep II & III) to support a growing healthcare client in Plano, TX. These are contract-to-hire roles in an onsite setting within a brand-new, modern office space featuring an on-site fitness center.
Ideal candidates will have experience in hospital billing, denials resolution, and revenue cycle operations. The AR Rep III role includes mentorship duties and complex case resolution.
Responsibilities
AR Rep II & III:
- Resolve hospital insurance denials and underpayments.
- Follow up with payers regarding claim statuses and discrepancies.
- Prepare appeals and ensure compliance with payer guidelines.
- Review UB-04 claims and reimbursement contracts.
- Use AR platforms (e.g., Rubixis), EHRs (e.g., EPIC, Paragon, Zirmed), and Microsoft Excel.
- Document account activity per HIPAA and compliance standards.
- Collaborate with team leads to identify denial trends.
AR Rep III (in addition to above):
- Manage moderately complex claims and reimbursement issues.
- Mentor junior AR staff (Rep I and II).
- Conduct pricing and reimbursement variance analysis.
- Serve as SME on denial codes, appeals, and contract interpretation.
- Support leadership in identifying systemic denial patterns.
Requirements
AR Rep II:
- 3 years of hospital AR, billing, or collections experience.
- Familiarity with UB-04 billing and denial resolution.
- Understanding of CPT, ICD, and DRG coding.
- Proficiency with EHR platforms and billing systems.
- Strong communication and analytical skills.
AR Rep III:
- 5 years in hospital billing/follow-up in an acute care or large facility setting.
- Advanced experience with denial resolution and contract review.
- Leadership or mentorship background in revenue cycle.
- Expertise in facility contracts and appeals processing.
Preferred (Both Levels):
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in healthcare, business, or finance.
- Experience with Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payers.
- Advanced Excel skills (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUPs).
- Familiarity with contract and reimbursement variance analysis.
