Summer Facilities General Helper (temporary)

The Weston Public Schools Facilities Department is seeking to hire three General Helpers for the summer to assist the school custodians and/or the school grounds crew. These are temporary positions, with the option of working 6:30 am - 3:00 pm Monday-Thursday (32 hours/week), or 6:30 am - 3:00 pm Monday-Friday (40 hours/week). The hours include an unpaid 30-minute lunch and two paid 15-minute breaks. We are looking for a diverse pool of applicants who are inspired by our mission to educate, equip, and inspire all students to achieve their full potential and enrich their community.

The Weston Public Schools enrolls approximately 2,000 students in pre-kindergarten through grade 12. The school district includes a high school for grades 9-12, a middle school for grades 6-8, an upper elementary school for grades 4-5, and two lower elementary schools for pre-kindergarten through grade 3. Since 1967, Weston has participated in METCO (Metropolitan Council for Educational Opportunity) - a voluntary, desegregation program that places Boston residents in suburban schools. The Weston METCO program enrolls approximately 150 students (K-12).

• Perform routine and specialized custodial tasks, including general cleaning, painting, and moving furniture
• Assist the school grounds crew with sting trimming, mowing, weeding, and raking
• Establish and maintain positive working relationships
• Other duties as assigned

• Maturity, flexibility, and comfort working as part of a team
• Strong work ethic, with a track record of meeting deadlines
• Able to understand and follow oral and written instructions

$16.00 per hour
