What are the responsibilities and job description for the Registrar position at Weston Public Schools?
Registrar - Hurlbutt Elementary School
Job Goal: To manage enrollment of all entering students and families, verify residency, maintain records in the district databases; and to provide general office support with the school's day-to-day operations.
Qualifications:
- Associate's Degree, Bachelor's Degree preferred
- Minimum 2 years experience in clerical or related field
- Excellent typing and organizational skills
- Computer experience necessary, including, but not limited to, MS Office and Google Suite
- Strong, personable telephone and in-person communication skills
- Ability to relate well with faculty, parents, and students
- Strict confidentiality required
Performance Responsibilities:
- Registers of all incoming preschool and kindergarten students
- Manages new student registration and records
- Responds to prospective new student/parent inquiries
- Processes withdrawals of exiting students, forwards official records
- Collaborates with the school nurse, other relevant staff on incoming registrations
- Coordinates with bus garage regarding transportation
- Ensures that all student information fields are accurately recorded
- Ensures that all parents understand district systems, including Power School and Dismissal Manager
- Prepares state and local reports associated with enrollment
- Shares information from parents and other school visitors with appropriate school personnel
- Records daily attendance in Powerschool
- Manages parent notification regarding student absenteeism
- Notifies appropriate staff of unexcused absences, prolonged absences, and absences due to communicable illness
- Coordinates daily lunch counts with the cafeteria
- Organizes daily student dismissal plans in School Dismissal Manager
- Responsible for the personable, smooth, and efficient operation of Hurlbutt Elementary School Main Office
- Fulfills other duties as assigned by the School Principal
Work Year: 200 days
Terms: as established by the bargaining agreement between the Board of Education and AFSCME
Reports to: Building Principal
