Position Overview

The Weston Public Schools is seeking a District Project Manager to support the Superintendent/School Committee. This is a full-year salaried position reporting to the Superintendent of Schools. About the Weston Public Schools

The Weston Public Schools enrolls approximately 2,000 students in pre-kindergarten through grade 12. The school district includes a high school for grades 9-12, a middle school for grades 6-8, an upper elementary school for grades 4-5, and two lower elementary schools for pre-kindergarten through grade 3. Since 1967, Weston has participated in METCO (Metropolitan Council for Educational Opportunity) - a voluntary school integration program that places Boston residents in suburban schools. The Weston METCO program enrolls approximately 150 students (K-12).

Key Responsibilities
  • Embrace the diversity of the Weston Public Schools by fostering an environment of respect and inclusion
  • Support the planning, coordination, and execution of school and district initiatives assigned by the Superintendent, including developing project plans with timelines, milestones, tasks, resources, and communication protocols.
  • Partner with the Superintendent and other leaders as assigned to refine operational systems, workflows, and processes and support key projects and initiatives.
  • Serve as a central point of communication to keep stakeholders informed and aligned; prepare Superintendent and project updates for district leadership and the School Committee.
  • Communicate regularly with staff, families, and the community regarding projects, district priorities, updates and needs, and social media content.
  • Monitor project progress, identify risks or barriers, and implement mitigation strategies. ● Manage the Superintendent’s calendar, with respect to school committee meetings, district priorities, and projects.
  • Attend and support meetings by providing information, recording minutes, and preparing and organizing materials.
  • Be available to support district work and communication needs and attend meetings during evenings and weekends, as required and requested.
  • Support the School Committee by scheduling meetings, preparing materials, taking minutes, maintaining communication, and organizing events as needed. The Project Manager is expected to maintain the confidentiality of communications and materials in connection with their responsibilities.
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret project-related data; design surveys, conduct focus groups, and prepare qualitative and quantitative analyses.
  • Manage multiple projects at varying levels of complexity, ensuring timely documentation including agendas, minutes, action steps, briefs, and reports.
  • Use project management tools to track progress and ensure accuracy; coordinate resources and keep leaders informed about project budget needs.
  • Manage contracts and relationships with external consultants and service providers. ● Model strong interpersonal skills, effective communication, and culturally responsive practices.
  • Work with the Superintendent to expand community partnerships and engage with staff and community members in a responsive, customer-focused, and confidential manner.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Superintendent or her designee.
Desired Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in Business/ Education or equivalent education/experience in project management or administrative roles.
  • Certification in Project Management, Minimum CAPM; PMP preferred
  • Proven experience in project management, administrative support, or a related field, preferably in an educational setting of at least three years.
  • Results-driven, with excellent planning and a systems approach to project management ● Working knowledge of laws and policies relevant to the school's work
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office, Google Suite, Adobe Acrobat, and WordPress
  • Skilled in developing professional presentations
  • Comfortable administering remote video conferencing
  • Expertise in spreadsheets and database applications
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
Compensation and Benefits

The District Project Manager is a 12-month salaried position, and the salary range is $95,000-$105,000 per year. Additionally, the Weston Public Schools offers a comprehensive benefits package, including subsidized health insurance and Middlesex County Retirement System participation. Professional growth is ongoing in Weston and supported through multiple internal and external opportunities.
