Elementary Principal (PreK-2) of Miller Elementary School

Elementary Principal (PreK-2) Qualifications:

• At least five years of successful experience as an elementary educator.
• Appropriate Master’s degree or higher.
• Certification as a Pre-K - 8 Principal/Assistant Principal.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Strong investment in creating a safe and healthy learning environment for students (experience with collaborative problem solving preferred).
• Passion for high academic standards and expectations.
• Strong interpersonal skills while interacting with students, parents and staff.
• Successful management and supervisory experience including experience with DESE education evaluation system.
• Commitment to Universally Designed Instruction.
• Knowledge of MTSS and experience facilitating Data Teams.

Reports to: Superintendent of Schools Performance Responsibilities: The Principal is a certified administrator who works closely with other personnel in performing administrative tasks in the areas of fostering a safe and healthy learning environment for students, curriculum, instruction and assessment, teacher supervision, recruitment, professional development, budget preparation, and public relations. Specific duties include:

1. Effectively acts as an educational leader and building manager for designated building.
2. Utilizes results to develop school improvement plans in cooperation with the Assistant Principal, Director of Equity, Curriculum & Instruction, Curriculum Coordinators, Department Chairpersons, Assistant Superintendent, and other partner leaders.
3. Assist in the coordination and delivery of professional development.
4. Builds and maintains an exceptionally positive school culture.
5. Upholds Student Code of Conduct and fosters Core Values of SPIRIT.
6. Communicates appropriately with parents and the community-at-large.
7. Organizes and implements programs and/or activities designed to promote the students’ academic and social/emotional development.
8. Supervises and evaluates building-level staff.
9. Assists the Superintendent in the preparation of the annual operational budget.
10. Develops a personal professional development plan designed to maximize knowledge and administrative skills in all areas related to the job description.
11. Facilitates the School Advisory Counsel and assists the group with the development of the School Improvement Plan.
12. Performs all other duties as assigned by the Superintendent of Schools.

Terms of Employment: 12 months per year Evaluation: The Superintendent will evaluate the Principal annually. The Town of Westford is an EEO/AA Employer

Salary : $127,000 - $132,500
