Reports to: K-12 Visual and Performing Arts Curriculum Coordinator and Building Principal
Westford Public Schools is seeking an exceptional high school theater educator to lead a rigorous, academically grounded, and highly accomplished theater program for the 2026–2027 school year. Job Requirements
- Design and deliver a comprehensive, standards-driven theater curriculum spanning acting, directing, dramaturgy, theater history, and technical theater.
- Uphold high academic expectations through rigorous coursework, critical analysis, and performance-based assessments.
- Integrate interdisciplinary connections, including literature, history, and cultural studies.
- Prepare advanced students for collegiate-level study and competitive arts programs.
- Design inclusive, student centered learning experiences using Universal Design for Learning (UDL) principles to ensure access, engagement and meaningful participation for all learners.
- Direct and produce multiple major productions annually, maintaining a tradition of artistic excellence and innovation.
- Oversee all aspects of production, including casting, rehearsals, design collaboration, and performance execution.
- Mentor student leaders in acting, stage management, design, and technical production.
- Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and disciplined rehearsal environment.
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Theater Education
- DESE Licensure in Theater
- Demonstrated success teaching theater at the secondary level or higher
- Proven experience directing high-quality theatrical productions
- Strong background in both performance and technical theater
- Commitment to academic rigor and student-centered pedagogy
- Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills
