As the instructional leader, the elementary school principal is first and foremost responsible for increasing student achievement by developing an aligned and coherent standards-based instructional system and by organizing the school site operation in accordance with the Board of Education policies. The principal is responsible for maintaining a positive, safe school climate, fostering a learning environment that addresses the unique social, emotional, and academic needs of elementary school students. Under the general direction of the Superintendent, the principal will lead staff or directly manage the following areas of the school: student instruction, student discipline, attendance, student activities, and supervision; and perform other related functions as assigned. *This position is not less than a 200 scheduled day position with full benefits.
