Facility Groundskeeper 

Job Description

Under immediate supervision, the facility groundskeeper maintains the exterior appearance and safety of a property by landscaping, maintaining equipment, and managing irrigation. Key duties include mowing, trimming, weed control, seasonal cleanup, and repairing outdoor fixtures like fences and fountains. The employee will interact daily with Management and should be polite, tactful, and respectful. Compensation ranges from $13.00 to $20.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.

 Job Responsibilities

• Landscaping & Horticulture: Plants, cultivates, and prunes trees, shrubs, flowers, and lawns. Fertilizers and pesticides apply to maintain turf health.
• Property Maintenance: Cleans sidewalks, parking lots, and grounds, including trash removal and cleaning debris. Performs minor repairs on fences, benches, and outdoor lighting.
• Irrigation Systems: Installs, monitors, and repairs irrigation systems to ensure proper watering of grounds.
• Equipment Operation: Operates and maintains power tools such as mowers, tractors, blowers, chainsaws, and snow removal equipment.
• Seasonal Tasks: Rakes leaves and prepares grounds for different weather conditions.
• Occasional: Performs preventive maintenance and repairs on all buildings and systems. Work to include carpentry, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, painting and other maintenance work as necessary.
   
   Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Minimum Requirements

1. Job requires an accredited high school diploma or GED equivalent.
 2. Job requires a minimum of three (3) years of work-related employment in a related field.
 3. Intermediate knowledge of HVAC, electrical, and plumbing required.
 4. Job requires a current, valid Texas Class C driver's license.
 5. Ability to read, analyze and interpret manuals, diagrams, general business periodicals, and government regulations.
 6. Ability to prepare reports and procedure manuals.
 7. Monitor all mechanical functions to ensure all facility and grounds equipment is functioning properly.
 8. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, customers, and the public and management.
 9. Must be customer-service oriented, have a customer friendly attitude, and professional appearance at all times.
 10. Must be capable of working in a fast-paced environment.
 11. Must understand and implement facility emergency action plan when needed.
 12. Must be able to work effectively under pressure and stringent schedules and produce accurate and satisfactory results.
 13. Must understand and implement facility safety and operational policies and procedures.
 14. Must be able to establish and obtain maintenance goals and objectives.
 15. Must be able to communicate effectively, at all levels, both orally and in writing.
 16. Employee is required to know all work required procedures and maintain standard attendance and employee professionalism.
 17. Job requires average knowledge to perform equipment maintenance and/or operations, report preparation, and general information other departments.

 Physical Requirements

1. Job generally requires some physical effort limited to lifting items weighing 20-50 lbs. on a frequent basis and 51-80 lbs. on an occasional basis and requires standing and walking from place to place.
 2. Employee may be exposed to hazards, work outdoors and work unusual work schedules.

3. Able to handle heights using and complying with safety protocols

Additional Information

1. This is a safety sensitive position subject to random drug and alcohol testing.
 2. Position does not have supervisory responsibilities.
3. Work requires to be available for shift work on evenings, weekends and holidays.

Monday - Friday Work; requires to be available for shift work on evenings, weekends and holidays.

Budgeted hours

6:00am - 3:00pm overtime as needed.

Salary Range $13 - $20 USD
