Facility Maintenance Technician

Under immediate supervision, the Facilities Maintenance Technician provides the day-to-day facility service and maintenance. Employee to work a varied schedule to provide Preventative / Corrective Maintenance (PM) without interference to Production. The employee will interact daily with Management and should be polite, tactful, and respectful. Compensation ranges from $13.00 to $20.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications. 

 Job Responsibilities

1. Performs preventive maintenance and repairs on all buildings and systems. Work to include carpentry, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, painting and other maintenance work as necessary.
 2. Maintains a safe, clean work area.
 3. Maintains the parking area, grounds, landscaping and all related equipment to support outdoor areas.
 4. Work under safety requirements established by supervisor and/or company.
 5. Trains staff to perform preventive maintenance programs.
 6. Prepares weekly schedule.
 7. Maintains a continuous inventory of facility tools and equipment.
 8. Develops requisitions for tools need to perform a specific job.
 9. Provides for drainage of all areas affected by rain when needed.
 10. Responds to public inquiries in a professional and tactful manner.
 11. Performs other job-related work as assigned by the Manager of Facilities.

 Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Minimum Requirements 

1. Job requires an accredited high school diploma or GED equivalent.
 2. Job requires a minimum of three (3) years of work-related employment in a related field.
 3. Intermediate knowledge of HVAC, electrical, and plumbing required.
 4. Job requires a current, valid Texas Class C driver's license.
 5. Ability to read, analyze and interpret manuals, diagrams, general business periodicals, and government regulations.
 6. Ability to prepare reports and procedure manuals.
 7. Monitor all mechanical functions to ensure all facility and grounds equipment is functioning properly.
 8. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, customers, and the public and management.
 9. Must be customer-service oriented, have a customer friendly attitude, and professional appearance at all times.
 10. Must be capable of working in a fast-paced environment.
 11. Must understand and implement facility emergency action plan when needed.
 12. Must be able to work effectively under pressure and stringent schedules and produce accurate and satisfactory results.
 13. Must understand and implement facility safety and operational policies and procedures.
 14. Must be able to establish and obtain maintenance goals and objectives.
 15. Must be able to communicate effectively, at all levels, both orally and in writing.
 16. Employee is required to know all work required procedures and maintain standard attendance and employee professionalism.
 17. Job requires average knowledge to perform equipment maintenance and/or operations, report preparation, and general information other departments.

 Physical Requirements

1. Job generally requires some physical effort limited to lifting items weighing 20-50 lbs. on a frequent basis and 51-80 lbs. on an occasional basis and requires standing and walking from place to place.
 2. Employee may be exposed to hazards, work outdoors and work unusual work schedules.

3. Able to handle heights using and complying with safety protocols

Additional Information

1. This is a safety sensitive position subject to random drug and alcohol testing.
 2. Position does not have supervisory responsibilities.
 3. Work requires to be available for shift work on evenings, weekends and holidays.
