To better support our Finance Department and the anticipated doubling of our portfolio over the next few years, Westcore is looking for a well-rounded Senior Business Intelligence Analyst.


POSITION SUMMARY:

Westcore is seeking a commercially fluent, technically proficient Business Intelligence Analyst to own portfolio reporting, fund performance analytics, and investor-facing data products for our growing fund and investor management business. This role sits at the intersection of finance and technology, you understand how industrial CRE assets perform, how funds are structured, and how to translate that into dashboards and reports that drive decisions at the leadership and investor level.

You will be the primary owner of Power BI reporting for asset management, leasing, and financial performance. You will work closely with the VP of Finance, FP&A, and the AI & Data Solutions Analyst to consume a governed, cloud-native data platform (Microsoft Fabric/OneLake) and deliver reporting that is accurate, timely, and investor-ready.


CORE ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Portfolio & Investor Reporting Leadership - Own the design, development, and delivery of fund-level performance reporting, ensuring alignment with institutional investor standards and supporting transparency across key financial and operational metrics.
  • Business Intelligence & Analytics Strategy - Lead the development of scalable analytics solutions and dashboards that translate business needs into actionable insights for leadership, asset management, acquisitions, leasing, and finance teams.
  • Data Infrastructure & Semantic Model Management - Oversee the integrity and performance of Power BI data models and reporting architecture, partnering with IT to ensure accurate, reliable, and scalable data pipelines within the OneLake/Fabric environment.
  • Automation & Reporting Efficiency - Drive automation and process optimization initiatives to streamline reporting workflows, reduce manual effort, and improve consistency, auditability, and speed of delivery.
  • Data Governance & Stewardship (Finance Domain) - Act as the Finance Data Steward, ensuring adherence to data governance standards, maintaining data quality, and supporting the development of consistent financial data definitions and validation frameworks.


PRIMARY DUTIES: (The below list is not comprehensive, and priorities will change on a day-to-day basis)


Portfolio & Investor Reporting

  • Design and maintain Power BI dashboards and reporting packages for fund-level performance (NOI, occupancy, lease expirations, rent rolls, IRR, equity multiples, cap rates, capital expenditures)
  • Develop investor reporting templates and fund performance summaries (quarterly reports, board packages, capital account statements)
  • Support new fund launches by defining reporting infrastructure, data requirements, cadence, and distribution workflows
  • Partner with FP&A on variance analysis, budget vs. actual reporting, and quarterly close commentary
  • Implement row-level security and fund-level access controls for appropriate data visibility


Business Intelligence & Analytics

  • Collaborate cross-functionally (asset management, leasing, acquisitions, finance) to define KPIs and analytical requirements
  • Build self-service analytics capabilities using Copilot for Power BI, enabling natural language data exploration
  • Design role-specific dashboards for executive and operational users
  • Maintain and enhance Power BI semantic models within the OneLake/Fabric platform
  • Establish feedback loops to convert recurring ad hoc requests into standardized dashboard solutions


Automation & Efficiency

  • Develop automated workflows using Power Automate for report distribution, validation alerts, and investor package generation
  • Create Python, Excel, and Power Query solutions for data transformation and reporting support
  • Document reporting logic, DAX measures, and data dependencies to ensure continuity and audit readiness


Data Governance

  • Serve as Finance Data Steward, approving taxonomy, validation rules, and data quality standards
  • Identify and escalate upstream data quality issues; collaborate on validation rule development for financial datasets (budgets, rent rolls, capital tracking)


DESIRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Real Estate, Data Analytics, or related field
  • 5 years of experience in business intelligence, financial reporting, or data analytics
  • Commercial real estate experience required, including familiarity with operating metrics, fund structures, and investor reporting
  • Proven ability to build and deliver production-grade Power BI solutions for leadership and external stakeholders


Technical Skills

  • Advanced Power BI (DAX, Power Query, data modeling, performance optimization, row-level security)
  • Strong SQL and advanced Excel (financial modeling, Power Query/Power Pivot)
  • Experience with Python (data manipulation/automation) and Power Automate
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Fabric/OneLake and version control (Git/GitHub)


Preferred

  • Experience with Yardi, DataFreedom, CoStar, Argus, or Green Street
  • Knowledge of institutional fund reporting (LP/GP structures)
  • Exposure to FP&A visualization tools (e.g., Zebra BI)
  • Microsoft Fabric DP-600 certification
