Salary: $30,000- $35,000; salary commensurate with training and experience. Full-time employees of the West Virginia State Treasurer’s Office (WVSTO) are eligible for Public Employee Insurance Agency benefits and a number of other benefits available to state employees.

Reports To: Senior Administrative Specialist
Nature of Work:
Under the direct supervision of the Senior Administrative Specialist, this position receives visitors and phone calls for the State Treasurer’s Office (WVSTO) while also aiding other areas of the office with administrative duties. The Senior Administrative Specialist outlines work methods and work duties with detailed instructions. Work hours are 8:30am to 4:30pm; position is not eligible for teleworking.
Job Duties:
- Serves as the chief phone operator; answers and forwards incoming calls that come to the main WVSTO switchboard.
- Receives visitors at the front desk by greeting, welcoming, directing and announcing them appropriately.
- Assists the Senior Administrative Specialist, Facilities Manager and Assistant Treasurers as requested.
Maintains office security by following safety procedures and controlling access of STO offices through the use of the facilities security system.
- Assists the WV Retirement Plus division with administrative tasks.
- Performs general filing responsibilities.
- Scans documents.
- Drafts correspondence and compiles mailings.
- Assists other staff as needed.
- Notifies Senior Administrative Specialist when potential problems arise.
- Assists with related special projects, as required.
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Basic understanding of administrative and clerical procedures.
• Knowledge of general office procedures including typing, filing, and a variety of office equipment.
• Knowledge of the correct use of English grammar.
• Knowledge of WVSTO rules, regulations, and procedures.
• Ability to greet the public and work well with others.
• Ability to use the WVSTO computer systems.
