What are the responsibilities and job description for the Paralegal 1 - HEALTH - HRC - HUMAN RIGHTS COMMISSION - Kanawha Co. position at West Virginia?
The Human Rights Commission paralegal will maintain legal records and prepare legal documents, pleadings, orders, Administrative Law Judge (ALJ) final decisions and correspondence. This position will coordinate scheduling of both live and virtual proceedings, as well as all aspects of case mediation. The paralegal is responsible for maintaining office statistical records of all case activity and preparing relevant reports and will prepare certified record for appellate court review. This position will perform legal research using Westlaw and other services as necessary. This position may perform additional duties as necessary.

Training: Graduation from a standard high school or equivalent.
Experience: Two (2) years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid clerical experience in a legal setting.
The candidate should possess excellent oral and written communication skills and have the ability to communicate and interact in a professional manner with attorneys who practice before the ALJ.
