Position Summary:
Assist in the day -to-day operations of the maintenance in the Supported Housing department. Evaluates apartments to determine if any maintenance or repairs need to be perform.
Essential Accountabilities:
Responsible for ensuring that emergencies and unsafe conditions at the apartments are immediately addressed.

Maintains inventory reports on all materials used.

Competing work orders and maintaining records of all completed work.

Weekly meeting with immediate supervisor.

Required to carry agency communication device.

Attends certificate and non-certificate classes given on an annual basis.

Flexible hours during emergencies such as snow/weather, including weekends.

Required to drive to various locations.

Keeps appropriate records of all work performed and ensures that all necessary paperwork is timely completed.

Participates in on-going training and attends regularly scheduled staff meetings.

Required to be on 24-hour call for emergency situations.

Required to Transport and assist in apartment relocation.

Required to complete monthly apartment inspection and make sure all safety devices are in working order.

Setting up Supported Housing apartment for site visit.

This does not limit the assignment of or exclude the performance of other duties, not mentioned, as assigned by supervisor.

Ordering new furniture for apartment.

Teaching clients how to complete minor apartment task: e.g. hanging curtain rod
High School diploma or equivalency diploma; or 2 years’ experience working with individuals with Mental Illness. Must have a valid NYS driver license.
Experience with with maintenance work required
