Sebree Elementary School is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Physical Education Teacher to join our team on a full-time basis. The ideal candidate will foster a positive and engaging environment that promotes physical fitness, teamwork, and healthy lifestyle choices among students. This role requires a passion for physical education and the ability to inspire students to develop their physical skills and appreciation for physical activity.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a comprehensive physical education curriculum that meets state standards and aligns with school goals.
• Plan and conduct engaging physical education classes for students in grades K-5, focusing on skill development, fitness, and teamwork.
• Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to enhance their physical abilities and understanding of health-related concepts.
• Create a safe and inclusive classroom environment that encourages participation and respects individual differences.
• Organize and supervise physical activities, games, and sports events, including intramural competitions and field days.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers and staff to integrate physical education with other subjects and promote overall student wellness.
• Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress, achievements, and areas for improvement.
• Stay current with best practices in physical education and participate in professional development opportunities.
• Maintain accurate records of student attendance, performance, and assessments.
• Ensure proper maintenance of physical education equipment and facilities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree
• Valid state teaching certification in Physical Education for elementary education.
• Previous teaching experience in physical education or a related field is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of physical education standards, instructional strategies, and assessment methods.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage students and build positive relationships.
• Ability to work collaboratively with other educators, staff, and parents.
• A commitment to promoting a healthy and active lifestyle among students.
• CPR and First Aid certification preferred or willingness to obtain.
• Background check and clearance as required by state regulations.
