Providence/Clay Elementary Schools are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Physical Education Teacher to join their team. This is a split position between the two schools. The ideal candidate will be passionate about fostering a love for physical activity and promoting healthy lifestyles among students. This full-time position requires a commitment to creating a positive and engaging learning environment that supports the physical, social, and emotional development of all students.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a comprehensive physical education curriculum that aligns with state standards and promotes physical fitness, motor skills, and teamwork.
• Plan and conduct engaging lessons that cater to various skill levels and encourage student participation.
• Assess student performance and progress in physical education through observations, assessments, and feedback.
• Create a safe and inclusive environment for all students, ensuring proper use of equipment and facilities.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers to integrate physical activity into the overall school curriculum.
• Organize and supervise extracurricular activities, such as sports teams, fitness clubs, and school-wide events.
• Communicate regularly with parents and guardians about student progress and ways to support physical activity at home.
• Stay current with best practices in physical education and participate in professional development opportunities.
• Promote a positive attitude towards physical fitness and healthy lifestyles within the school community.

Requirements

• Valid teaching certification in Physical Education for elementary education.
• Experience working with elementary school students in a physical education setting is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of physical education principles, practices, and safety guidelines.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire students.
• Ability to work collaboratively with staff, students, and parents.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
