Position: Finish and Lead Carpenter

Location: Kennebunk, ME

Our client, a family-owned custom home builder based in Wells, Maine, is seeking experienced finish and lead carpenters to join their team. The company has been constructing quality custom homes in southern Maine for over 40 years.

Job Description:

As a Lead Carpenter, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the carpentry aspects of construction projects. This includes leading a team of carpenters, working on-site to ensure projects are completed on time and to the highest standards, and ensuring safety protocols are followed. You will be involved in all stages of construction from framing to finishing, and your leadership will be key to delivering exceptional results.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and direct carpenters and laborers on the job site
• Manage daily operations and ensure project timelines and quality standards are met
• Ensure all work is in compliance with safety regulations and building codes
• Interpret blueprints, sketches, and drawings for construction projects
• Measure, cut, and install materials such as wood, drywall, and trim
• Coordinate with other trades and subcontractors
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment

Qualifications:

• 5 years of carpentry experience with a focus on leadership roles
• Proven experience in managing a construction crew
• Strong knowledge of construction processes, materials, and safety standards
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Strong problem-solving ability and attention to detail
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
