What You'll Be Doing
• Independently manage workers' compensation matters from inception through resolution
• Handle depositions, hearings, appeals, mediations, and settlement negotiations
• Represent employers, insurers, and TPAs before the Virginia Workers' Compensation Commission
• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and case evaluations
• Provide strategic advice, risk assessments, and regular client reporting
Core Requirements
• Active Virginia Bar admission (DC and/or Maryland admission is a plus)
• 3 years of Workers' Compensation defense experience
• Strong writing, advocacy, and litigation skills
• Ability to independently manage a workers' compensation caseload
Preferred Background
• Experience representing employers, insurance carriers, or third-party administrators
• Excellent client communication and organisational skills
• Self-motivated attorney who thrives in a collaborative remote environment
