We provide assistance to low to moderate income families to help address their most critical needs. The agency has over 70 programs, including valuable educational, housing, and emergency services.
Internship Description:
- Wayne Metro seeks a detail-oriented professional with a focus on Urban Planning to support our development initiatives and the Region N Regional Housing Partnership (RHP). This role requires a general knowledge of housing development and affordable housing landscapes, challenges, and best practices. A blend of technical planning skills, human engagement abilities, and organizational expertise will be used to support the team.
Interns Essential Functions:
- Regional Housing Partnership Action Plan
- Assist with stewardship of the Region N Regional Housing Partnership (RHP) Action Plan spreadsheet, ensuring information is current and accurately reflects regional housing goals and strategies
- Support event planning and logistics for convenings of regional housing partners
- Regional Resource HUB Development
- Engage regional housing stakeholders and partners in Region N (Out-Wayne) through in-person meetings, email outreach, surveys, and other communication channels to identify needs for a Regional Resource HUB
- Gather, synthesize, and distill stakeholder and community input into technical requirements
- Support the drafting of Requests for Proposals (RFPs) based on identified community and partner needs
- Communications & Outreach
- Assist in the creation and distribution of newsletters to keep Region N Housing Partners informed of project milestones and community impact
- Support broader outreach efforts to maintain consistent communication with regional partners and stakeholders
- Historical Records & Data Management
- Organize, catalog, and maintain historical internal project files, including architectural plans, alley vacations, and original home plans
- Develop and uphold a clear filing system to facilitate efficient research and reference of past property records and project documentation
- General Team Support
- Provide administrative and research support to the Development team
- Assist with donor stewardship, including acknowledgment of contributions and maintaining regular communication with supporters
- Engage with and support volunteers at community events
Physical Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma/general education degree (GED) OR a combination of education and experience that is similarly equivalent.
- Pass Criminal Background check & Drug Screening
- Ability to work a hybrid schedule
