What are the responsibilities and job description for the Nutrition Service Kitchen Assistant position at Watervliet Public Schools?
Required Qualifications.
- Must be able to multitask and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be able to work as part of a team.
- Must be able to twist, bend, lift, and stand for extended periods of time on hard floors.
- Must be able to communicate effectively and professionally with students, staff, and parents.
- Must be able to operate a computer and handle money (receive, give correct change and balance cash drawer).
- Must be willing to comply with federal, state, and department guidelines. Current safety and sanitation certification, civil rights training, and safe schools training.
- All training must be completed within the first 30 days of employment.
- Preferred Personal and Professional Competencies
- Previous food service experience is helpful.
- ServSafe Certification.
- ServSafe Allergens.
- Fundamental math and reading skills.
- Work well with our team.
Major Job Responsibilities
- Daily duties include, but are not limited to: meal service, dishwashing, cleaning, production record keeping, food preparation, cashier and customer service.
