Wartech Engineering is a dynamic, fast-paced small business defense contractor seeking an experienced Fabricator/Welder to join our Production team. This position is responsible for the fabrication and welding of various parts and assemblies made from structural steel and aluminum materials in accordance with American Welding Society (AWS) codes D1.1, D1.2, and D1.7, with a strong focus on weld quality, fabrication accuracy, and safety.

THE SUCCESSFUL FABRICATOR/WELDER
The successful Fabricator/Welder at Wartech Engineering is a skilled craftsman with exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to producing quality work. FABRICATOR/WELDER RESPONSIBILITIES
- Fabricate and weld structural steel and aluminum parts and assemblies to AWS D1.1, D1.2, and D1.7 standards.
- Perform layout, fitting, and joint preparation for fabricated assemblies.
- Read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, paperless prints, and 3D models.
- Operate MIG (GMAW) and TIG (GTAW) welding equipment.
- Operate oxy-acetylene cutting torches, plasma cutters, ironworkers, bandsaws, grinders, bevelers, and other fabrication equipment.
- Inspect welds and completed assemblies to ensure quality and dimensional accuracy.
- Safely operate forklifts and gantry cranes using proper rigging techniques.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Follow all company safety procedures and OSHA guidelines.
- Collaborate with team members to meet production schedules and quality standards.

QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
- Experience with industrial metalworking processes.
- Experience operating MIG (GMAW) welders, TIG (GTAW) welders, oxy-acetylene cutting torches, plasma cutters, ironworkers, bandsaws, grinders, bevelers, and related fabrication equipment.
- High level of fabrication and layout experience.
- Welding and joint preparation knowledge.
- Ability to read blueprints, weld symbols, paperless prints, and 3D models.
- Basic computer skills.
- Solid mathematical comprehension including fractions, measurements, and basic calculations.
- Experience operating forklifts and gantry cranes, including proper rigging techniques.
- Ability to lift and manipulate heavy steel safely.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or "U.S. Person" in accordance with International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
Preferred:
- Experience in the defense industry.
- Familiarity with Epicor Kinetic or similar ERP systems.
- Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification.
